LNG

The cleanest fuel for trucks

LNG stands for Liquefied Natural Gas. For many years, natural gas has been used in our homes but also as fuel in the transport industry.
It is mainly used for heavy duty means of transport such as trucks and large ships. It is the cleanest fuel currently in use in the transport industry.

Appropriate for long distance

The gas in the fuel tank of a truck or vessel is no longer cooled down. The tank insulation keeps the temperature low. Continuous use keeps the pressure and temperature stable. This makes the fuel especially appropriate for trucks and vessels that never stop for long due to financial reasons.

Production process

Natural gas is liquefied (i.e. LNG) by cooling it down to -162 C. The volume decreases by a factor of 600. This makes it easier to transport the LNG to the tank and bunker stations and the amount of gas in a truck or vessel fuel tank is higher, which increases the range of the vehicle.

Why use LNG??
  • Much lower hazardous substance emissions.
  • Financial advantage of a lower fuel price.
  • Lower noise pollution.
  • Contribution to your sustainability objectives.

Switch over to LNG means that the transition will be without issues to an even cleaner and carbon neutral organic LNG in the future. This fuel is also known as LBM (Liquid Biomethane).

Cleaner

LNG combustion is much cleaner than diesel combustion: 30% less health damage (PM10 and NOx) than diesel Euro VI standard and 10% less CO2 emissions. LNG transport already meets the emission standards set for cargo transport and shipping. Without requiring additional measures!

Lower noise pollution

An LNG engine is 50% quieter than a diesel engine. This means that Peak certification for cargo transport is allowed, which, in turn allows for loading and unloading outside the usual time windows.

Competitive to diesel fuel prices

Road transport can switch without incurring costs. LNG is even a little more affordable than diesel fuel and the energy value is higher!

Stable prices

Natural gas is mined throughout the world making the price more stable than that of diesel fuel. Stocks are expected to last 250 years. Diesel fuel stocks are only expected to last 50 years.
